I am Annabelle Schatteman, a Jung inspired therapist graduated from the Jungian Institute in Nijmegen. I am also a visual artist, a wife, a mother, a daughter, and a friend. I have my art studio in Scheveningen, in the cultural breeding ground called See Lab. This is also where the therapeutic sessions take place. Having been engaged for over twenty years with the joy as well as the struggle of being an artist, I now dedicate part of my time and effort to helping others deal with the challenges that come from making this life-choice. Being an artist entails searching to channel something divine, cosmic, beautiful, but this motivation sometimes clashes with the demands of ordinary life. An artist is required to handle both his/her creative urge and the requirements of social life. This is necessary to find fulfilment and to flourish individually. This process is close to my heart, which is why it was the topic of my final dissertation as a master student. I found that therapy helps creative people in this process of integration. Integration is what is required to properly align the creative urge with making money, being a good family member, a good friend, and that these aspects of life are also fundamental for an artist’s creativity. I am here to guide you in that process.
