Hello, my name is Evgenia Kogay. I am a psychological counsellor and psychotherapist based in South Korea. I work online with adults and couples worldwide in English and Russian, and offer in-person consultations in South Korea by prior arrangement. People often come to me when familiar ways of coping no longer work: when anxiety, depression, stress, emotional exhaustion, or a life crisis begin to affect their wellbeing and relationships. I also support clients experiencing low self-esteem, difficulty setting boundaries, loneliness, codependency, recurring relationship patterns, separation, divorce, infidelity, jealousy, loss of trust, and adjustment to living in another country. Relationships are a central focus of my practice. I work with individuals who want to understand why similar difficulties keep repeating, as well as with couples facing conflict, emotional distance, communication problems, or uncertainty about the future of their relationship. My approach is integrative and draws on Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), systemic family therapy, attachment theory, and relational approaches. This allows us to consider not only the immediate problem, but also how it may be connected to your experiences, relationships, thoughts, emotional responses, needs, and established patterns. I adapt the therapeutic process to each person or couple rather than using a one-size-fits-all model. During the first session, we will discuss what has brought you to therapy, your current circumstances, and what you would like to change. You do not need to have a perfectly formulated request or know where to begin. We will work collaboratively and at a pace that feels manageable for you. Sessions may include exploring emotions and experiences, identifying recurring patterns, developing new perspectives, and finding practical ways to respond differently. My work is not based on generic advice. My aim is to create a respectful, confidential, and supportive space where you can speak openly, understand yourself and your relationships more clearly, and work towards meaningful and sustainable change. I have completed a 1,792-hour professional retraining programme in psychological counselling and psychotherapy, with additional training in Transactional Analysis. Regular professional supervision, continuing education, and personal therapy are integral parts of my practice.
