Sometimes psychological difficulties are being experienced for a number of years, other times they are triggered by more recent events. Deciding to see a psychologist can feel daunting at the beginning but it probably means that you are at a stage where you are ready to attempt to make changes. You might feel anxious or even ashamed to discuss personal issues. You might feel scared that you will not be able to change anything or feel better. These are understandable fears and concerns. However, if you are willing to give it a go, therapy can be an empowering process where you gain new insights, & different ways of managing problems.
