I truly believe that each and every one of us holds the strength to transform ourselves and our lives in a meaningful way – sometimes, we just need a little support to get there. My approach is client centred – recognizing that through the challenges, experiences, and traits that make us who we are, we deserve therapy that is unique to us. As a therapist, my practice is grounded in transparency, empathy and respect. I focus on developing a collaborative relationship to ensure that we are working towards your goals – whether that be having a better understanding of your thoughts, developing skills to regulate challenging emotions, improving communication, or improving self-esteem, to name a few. I have extensive experience working with individuals all across the lifespan, and specialize in anxiety disorders, depression, eating disorders, self-esteem issues, and stress management. Being South Asian myself, I am very well aware of the challenges we face day to day that only serve to intensify our experiences with mental health. Perhaps we’re surrounded by people who make light, or laugh at the idea of mental health and mental illnesses, maybe cultural norms have been so imbedded into our lives and mindset that we’ve forgotten (or never learned) how to talk about our thoughts and feelings, or maybe our families just don’t understand why we would want to talk to someone about what we’re going through. Whatever challenges you face, my goal is to help you take those first steps in breaking through those walls and acknowledging your experiences as valid. During our time together, I hope to help you build confidence within yourself to manage life’s challenges and reach your goals. I look forward to working with you.
