If you’ve been “coping” on the outside but feel stuck, ashamed, emotionally reactive, numb, or constantly on edge inside – this is the kind of work I do. I speicalise in helping adults work through stress, imposter syndrome, anxiety, and trauma through deep work – using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) alongside IFS-informed therapy (Internal Family Systems). How I work (EMDR + IFS) I offer bespoke therapy, which means we don’t force a one-size-fits-all approach. I meet you where you are and we work at a pace that feels safe and realistic. IFS-informed therapy helps us understand the different “parts” of you (the inner critic, the overthinker, the people-pleaser, the shut-down part, the part that feels too much). These parts aren’t “the problem” – they’re often protective, shaped by experience. EMDR is an evidence-based approach that helps the brain and body process distressing memories and patterns so they don’t keep hijacking the present. We’ll build stability first (grounding, emotional regulation, strengthening resources), then move into deeper processing when it’s appropriate – not rushed, not forced. Trauma and shame (what I mean by this) I’ve worked in mental health since 2001, and over time I’ve developed a particular commitment to supporting people impacted by shame and trauma. Trauma isn’t only about one major incident. It can be: something sudden and frightening something ongoing that wore you down over time experiences you had to carry alone without enough support, protection, or understanding Shame often shows up as “it was my fault,” “I’m not enough,” “I should be over this,” or “I don’t even know where to start.” Therapy can help loosen that grip. Many South Asian clients describe their background as “too complicated” – family roles, cultural expectations, identity pressures, loyalty, responsibility, silence, success, stigma… all tangled together. If that’s you, you don’t need to arrive with a tidy story. I can help you make sense of your experiences with clarity, and create distance from the impact of what you’ve lived through, without minimising culture, asking a thousand questions to understand or blaming it either. EMDR intensives (focused, time-limited work) I also offer EMDR intensives, which take place over 1 week in 3 longer sessions. This can suit people who can’t commit to weekly sessions, or who want structured time to target a specific trauma block or pattern. Usually busy parents, professionals or contractors.
