I am a certified psychologist, family therapist & counsellor with 20 years of experience in dealing with people of different geographical regions, religions,...
I began my career assisting families dealing with addiction, domestic violence, sexual abuse and child neglect, in their homes. This experience had a significant influence on my decision to become a therapist and my approach to treatment. My practice areas for individual therapy include, relationship challenges, academic and career management, childhood trauma, as well as, intergenerational disconnect. As an Indian-Caribbean therapist, I can relate to the immigrant experience and being part of a marginalized community. Sometimes, external pressures and expectations can drive our decisions, instead of our own core values. I enjoy helping individuals to examine and re-write their narratives and learn how to make choices that are more aligned with their beliefs. My practice philosophy is driven by the belief that self-awareness is key to making the changes we seek.
