About

Hello, I’m Sarah. As a British Asian woman, born, brought up and educated in London, I have a deep-rooted understanding and personal experience of the rich cultural diversity that exists within the South Asian community and beyond. When life feels difficult, and speaking to friends or family is not enough, having a therapist who understands our background and frame of reference, can be a more empowering and fulfilling experience. I understand how the multiple layers of our cultural identities (race, ethnicity, religion, gender, class) can shape our personality development and create challenges and conflict in many aspects of our lives. Perhaps you are struggling with forming or maintaining healthy, fulfilling connections, or finding friendships and other relationships challenging? Do you find yourself burdened with strained dynamics and cultural conflict with family or in-laws? As a certified couples and relationship counsellor, I am passionate about the importance of having healthy relationships and fully understand the huge impact of this on our wellbeing. With my training and expertise, I can help you to identify and understand your emotional and behavioural patterns. I can support you to identify unhealthy relational patterns and have those difficult conversations. I have specialist training in areas including relational conflict, communication problems, cultural and personality differences, infidelity, emotional and physical disconnection and intimacy issues. My approach I have advanced training in Transactional Analysis (TA) and Integrative therapy with an Intersectional lens. I combine several approaches (Psychodynamic, IPT, Attachment theory, Relational, Person-centred, and CBT ) to provide clients with the most effective support for them. My approach is deeply relational – I passionately believe in the power of a strong and collaborative therapeutic relationship, and that healing begins within the safety and trust of this relationship. What to expect Embarking on the path of self-discovery and healing is a courageous step. In our sessions, we will work together to identify and address the challenges you face.
