I am a certified psychologist, family therapist & counsellor with 20 years of experience in dealing with people of different geographical regions, religions,...
I was born in New Delhi and raised in Maryland, where I’ve spent most of my life before settling in Washington, D.C. As a South Asian woman and therapist, I understand the cultural expectations, stigma, and unspoken challenges around mental health that many in our community face. Therapy can feel unfamiliar or even taboo—but it doesn’t have to. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you don’t have to explain your culture before sharing your story. I bring compassion, cultural humility, and lived experience to help bridge the gap between mental health care and South Asian identity. Whether you’re navigating generational dynamics, identity, trauma, or simply feeling unheard—you’re not alone. I earned my MSW from Columbia University and have worked in high-acuity hospital settings as well as outpatient therapy with children, young adults, and families. My approach draws from CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and a trauma-informed, strengths-based lens. I am also training in Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT). I offer therapy in English and Hindi, with a special commitment to serving the South Asian community.
