Surbhi Vyas is a psychotherapist and the founder of Healing Lotus Mental Health, a telehealth private practice serving adolescents, adults, couples, and families across New Jersey and Pennsylvania. As a second-generation Indian American and daughter of immigrants, Surbhi is deeply committed to supporting BIPOC communities—particularly South and East Asians—who may experience cultural stigma around mental health. Surbhi specializes in working with daughters of immigrants and second-generation Americans, helping them navigate identity, intergenerational trauma, and cultural complexities through a narrative and culturally responsive lens. She was recently elected Vice President of the New Jersey Association of Women Therapists, reflecting her leadership and dedication to the field. In addition to her clinical work, Surbhi provides workshops and presentations for both community groups and mental health professionals, with a focus on increasing cultural competency in therapy. She is passionate about educating fellow clinicians on the unique needs of South Asian clients and advocating for affirming, accessible mental health care. Her voice has been featured on numerous podcasts and panels, where she addresses mental health stigma and works to bridge gaps in understanding. Surbhi also serves as a volunteer on the Education Committee for South Asian Americans for Change (SAAFC), a Philadelphia-based nonprofit that uses arts, education, and community-building to challenge stigma and foster mental wellness in South Asian communities.
