About

Hi, I’m Suzanna Storey, a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor of Sri-Lankan heritage. Born and raised in the UK by first-generation immigrant parents, I understand first-hand the nuances of navigating a dual culture. If you’ve ever felt “other” or struggled to find your place in the world, I can offer a space where your whole self is seen, heard and valued. I believe in what I call mental wealth – the inner resources we can all access when we understand ourselves and our past experiences, and how they might be shaping our present and future. If you feel stuck, anxious, low in confidence or unsure of who you are, therapy can help you release blocks, reclaim your identity and move towards your true potential. My approach is integrative and always tailored to you. I draw on a range of models including person-centred counselling, humanistic approaches, CBT, NLP, psychodynamic therapy and hypnotherapy. Together we will explore what is happening for you, set goals that matter to you and use the methods that feel most supportive. I have undertaken extensive training in racial trauma and work in a trauma-informed and compassionate way. I know the importance of having a therapist who understands the layers of cultural expectation, generational experience and identity conflict that can affect South Asian communities. In our work together, I will offer warmth, empathy and a safe, non-judgemental space. I will also be alongside you to gently challenge unhelpful patterns, encourage self-reflection and support your growth. Whether you are seeking short-term help for a specific challenge or a deeper exploration of who you are, I am here to help you on your healing journey.
