Hi, I’m Chant (she/they)! I’m a counselling psychologist based in Johannesburg with my fur-children, an ever-growing pile of books and a herb garden in constant need of revival. I am passionate about helping a diverse range of people to cultivate kindness and curiosity in exploring their experiences, relationships, identities, bodies and sexualities. I also have a special interest working with relationships, practices, identities and experiences that may not ‘fit’ the norm. I had a unique journey to qualifying as a psychologist and have an academic background in politics and philosophy with a particular focus on critical feminist/queer/Foucauldian research. My background means I try to be particularly sensitive to the various sociopolitical contexts that impact aspects of identity and experience. Intersectionality – the idea that we all have multiple intersecting aspects of our identity that impact one another – is an important part of my personal philosophy and I try to make space for experiences of marginalisation and minority stress in my work. Please feel free to reach out if you think we may be a good fit. HPCSA Number: PS0152331
