I offer online therapy, including online EMDR for adults based in South Africa. I mostly provide support for difficulties related to big life transitions, work and relationship stress, anxiety and trauma processing. Often, the focus is on shifting out of unhelpful patterns and realigning with empowered wellbeing. I have a particular interest in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based treatment for trauma recognized by international guidelines (WHO, APA, NICE (UK). I also have a strong interest in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT): a body-calming, self-applied method with promising research for anxiety, stress, and trauma-related symptoms. Sometimes people work with me to build up emotional regulation skills, enhance self-understanding, develop new ways to communicate and get a new perspective about the relationships they are in. For the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders, I primarily make use of a skills-based approach called Metacognitive Therapy (MCT). I am a certified EMDR practitioner, a helpful approach for the processing of trauma. I also draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic approaches, depending on the specific needs of the client. Each session is collaborative with a specific focus on holding struggle with compassion and on gaining new insights that can lead to constructive changes and an alleviation of distress. All my sessions are done online via secure video platforms allowing for convenient, focused therapy from the comfort of your own space, anywhere in South Africa.
