She has extensive experience and is knowledgeable in working with Adults, individuals, couples and families from diverse backgrounds, belief systems, spiritual orientations, lifestyles and cultural groups. Therapy is approached holistically, with respect for each client’s personal values and life context. Her areas of special interest, as a Registered Counselling Psychologist, include, but are not limited to: For individuals, therapy can focus on improving emotional well-being, insight, coping strategies, tools and techniques. Couple counselling includes marriage counselling, pre-marital counselling, general relationship therapy and some of the above mentioned under Individual therapy. Common concerns include communication difficulties, infidelity, trust issues, conflict resolution and rebuilding emotional connection. Michelle works with couples of all backgrounds, including heterosexual, same-sex couples, LGBTQIA+ and across diverse cultural and religious contexts. Therapy aims to improve communication, strengthen understanding and foster healthier, more resilient relationship patterns. Therapy is collaborative, teamwork and respectful, recognising each client as unique. As Michelle is trained in a wide range of therapeutic frameworks and tailors therapy as it progresses, based on the individual or couple’s needs, her main therapeutic approach is therefore Integrative and Eclectic. Therapeutic approaches include: CBT is often, though not exclusively, used in the treatment of anxiety disorders and is evidence-based. Michelle works from a balanced bio-psycho-social perspective, recognising the interconnected nature of thoughts, emotions, behaviour and physical well-being. The mind–body connection and the influence of thought patterns, imagery and belief systems are integrated where appropriate. Each person will have a completely different experience of therapy, depending on various factors. Michelle offers very flexible therapy and depending on individual beliefs, recognising and tapping into the power of the mind and the human being as mind-body-spirit.
