I am a medical practitioner with a special interest in mental health. My experience includes working for many years in a psychiatric emergency clinic in London, and extensive work in SA incorporating EMDR into general practice. EMDR is a clinically proven psychotherapy for post-traumatic stress disorder and other psychological states. Besides using EMDR for mental health problems like anxiety, depression and trauma, I have found wonderful application in general practice. Conditions include palpitations, irritable bowel syndrome, headaches, etc. I treat all age groups. There are times treatment becomes more eclectic and other techniques such as cognitive behavioural therapy becomes useful.
