I use predominantly a Person Centered approach so talk through the issues you are experiencing. I will then incorporate some Cognitive Behaviour Therapy if it feels appropriate to keep the therapy going by way of tasks to be completed at home between sessions. Often goal setting is also used to motivate. I believe in a client being given the safe space in which to explore their thoughts and feelings without being judged.
